The Sunshine Award!

Hi all! I am so excited to share that I have been nominated for the "Sunshine Blogger Award" by the lovely Ashley Nicole of Green Beauty Life. Thank you Ashley, you are so sweet and I am so flattered you thought of me!

Just like with the "Liebster Award" (which Ashley had also so kindly nominated me for & you can read here), the "Sunshine Blogger Award" is an award passed on by bloggers to their fellow bloggers who they feel "positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere". Wow! What an honor! This is just one of the many things I have grown to love about the blogging community - how supportive and encouraging everyone is of one another. It truly is inspiring. :-)

11 Random Facts About Me:

1. I live in Niagara Falls, NY and I have my entire life
2. I have 4 cats (all sisters), 2 guinea pigs (brothers) and a whole lot of parakeets (mom & dad were busy! ;-)) And I love them all more than anything!
3. In addition to writing, I studied visual art, and I have a degree in music performance and am a classically trained coloratura soprano. I have also taught private vocal instruction.
4. I am a huge nerd and am a fan of horror, sci-fi, action, and superhero movies/tv/books and comics
5. I love caramel macchiatos!
6. I love themes! I collect the Target seasonal tees & socks and I even theme out our meals!
7. I love all things British and would love to live in England some day..or even visit
8. My husband is 10 years younger than me & he is my best friend and the love of my life!
9. I have 2 younger brothers, both who are married and have children
10. I learn languages very quickly and easily and have sung in German, French, Italian, Latin and Spanish..I can understand them all a bit, but not enough to have a conversation - I'm working on that though!
11. I'm extremely shy and socially awkward most of the time, but once I get to know you, I'm a huge goofball and chatterbox!

Questions from Ashley:

1. What is your favorite article of clothing that you own? This is a tough one. But probably one of my superhero or Hello Kitty tees..sorry I know that's more than one..
2. Favorite place you've ever been? Without a doubt, Austria (Salzburg & Vienna). I went there years ago when I was singing with the Buffalo Choral Arts Society & it was amazing. Mozart is my favorite composer so being in his homeland, singing his music was magical to me. Plus the people, food and scenery were wonderful as well!
3. Favorite scent? Hmm..it depends on my mood and the season. I love citrus/floral scents in warmer months and vanilla & spicy scents in the colder months. But I love the smell of chocolate all year long!
4. Would you rather have a chocolatey dessert or fruity one? Chocolate everyday all day! Pair some dark chocolate with a nice red wine and I am in heaven!
5. Name a weird habit that you just can't shake! I honestly can't think of one..does chewing on my pens/pencils count?
6. What color are your nails right now? Dark green
7. Name one beauty product that you continually repurchase. Chapstick/Lip balm..I go through them like they're candy!
8. Favorite movie/tv show? Oh boy, this is going to be tough! I love the original 1977 Star Wars, the Harry Potter series & the Avengers for movies. TV shows is really hard, as there are so many right now, but my all time fave is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I also love Once Upon a Time & the Walking Dead series.
9. Favorite type of food? all kinds..but pizza is my addiction!
10. How big is your make-up collection? Before I switched to non-toxic products, it was so big I didn't have enough rooms in my house for it! Now it only takes up two drawers and a basket in my bathroom.
11. Favorite place to go shopping? I am a fan of Target, but I also love to go to one of our malls as well. I mostly shop for my skincare and make-up online though.
