Some Things I am Loving This Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! I am so excited for today, not because I have anything special to do, but rather because I can lounge around all day, watch scary movies (like "The Conjuring"..what a creeptacular film!), plan a "halloween themed" dinner and eat candy that I shouldn't!

So in the "spirit" of things, I thought I'd make a list of some things that I am loving this holiday season. :-)

1) Scary Movies - I'm a huge fan of the horror genre to begin with, but this is the time of year that I can just spend practically the whole month of October reveling in them. I have too many favorites to list them all, but a few that do a good job of creeping me out are "The Exorcist", "Rosemary's Baby", "Halloween", "The Fog" and "House of 1,000 Corpses".

2) Halloween Themed Recipes - I love themes of all kinds and I frequently will create a dinner that revolves around a particular theme. "Oh She Glows" and "One Green Planet"  have some really awesome ideas that I would love to try.

3) Costumes! - As a performer, I've had the opportunity to become different characters, but Halloween is the time when you can become someone or something else and not have to worry about memorizing a script or musical number! You can choose who or what you want to be and focus on the make-up and outfit! I may not have had the chance to go to any parties this year, but if I had I would have either been "Little Red Riding Hood" or "Snow White"

4) Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins! - Besides being my favorite gourd, and the main ingredient in some of my favorite holiday treats, pumpkin is a highly beautifying food (you didn't think I was going to forget this is a beauty blog did ya?;-P ), as it is high in zinc, iron, calcium, potassium, vitamins C, E and A, EFA's as well as fiber. A few awesome pumpkin rich skin treats are Mychelle's Incredible Pumpkin Peel, BFree Organics Pumpkin Spice Face & Body Scrub and Elaa's Pumpkin Radiance Renewing Enzyme Mask.

How are you spending your Halloween? What is your favorite thing about this holiday?

Peace, Love and Lots of Treats!
