1) When did you begin loving make-up?
I've loved make-up since I was really young. I've always had a love for the theatre and acting, and my dream when I was younger was to be a "movie star", so I would experiment with my mom's cosmetics to try and mimic the same glamour looks I'd see on tv/film. I ended up developing severe acne when I was just 9 years old, so make-up also became a necessity rather than just something to play around with.
2) How do you feel without make-up?
I honestly feel naked. If I had skin that wasn't always broken out or plagued with scars, I would only wear it when I went out. Fortunately, my skin isn't as bad as it used to be, but I am still too self conscious to go without any make-up on my face..even if I'm staying home all day. My husband tells me all the time that I don't need any make-up, which I appreciate and I love him all the more for, but when you've spent more than half your life hiding under cosmetics because of bad skin, it's hard to give up that security blanket. Maybe someday I'll get there..just not right now.
3) What do you like about make-up?
There is so much I love about make-up that I could write a book! To me, make-up is more than just something to add color to the face..it can literally transform a woman. No matter how "blah" you're feeling, just a little bit of blush, a coat of mascara, or a touch of gloss can instantly perk you up and ignite your confidence. I also love that there are so many wonderful non-toxic, natural options on the market now, so that make-up no longer just covers or colors, but nourishes and protects as well.
4) Three holy grail items?
Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Creme Foundation or RMS Un-Cover Up (they both act as cover-up, foundation, sunscreen and skincare product!)
Alima Pure Powder Foundation - I know this makes 4, but I need a powder to set my creme foundation! ;-P
I'd also like to add that I am never without a lipbalm of some kind (it's an addiction!), but since I can't seem to agree on a favorite, I chose not to include it as part of the above question..:-/
