New Loves and a Special Promo Code + Giveaway From Natural Joy Beauty *CLOSED*

There are three things I have been searching high and low for lately - a great natural shampoo & conditioner that works well with my (organically) color treated hair and the "perfect" foundation.

Well, thanks to the lovely Joy from Natural Joy Beauty, I may have found what I have been looking for!

Joy was kind enough to send me some products to try out and after using them for a few weeks, I am finally ready to give my two cents.

First up, hair care:

1) O-Hair Hydrolicious Shampoo - Even though I only wash my hair 3-4 times a week at most, I still prefer to use a sulfate free shampoo that is also devoid of other nasty toxins. This shampoo is hydrating without leaving a greasy feel to the hair. It smells like grapefruit which I love and a little goes a long way. I've also noticed since I started using it there are less hairs in the drain after..which could be from the inclusion of horsetail and vitamin B5 (panthenol), both of which strengthen and nourish hair. This also contains yucca leaf extract, which has been used by Native Americans for generations to treat dandruff and hair loss.

Price - $21.95 for 16oz
Ingredients - organic aloe barbadensis (aloe vera juice), guar gum, carboxymethyl cellulose (cellulose gum), xanthan gum, coco glucoside, vegetable glycerin,  di-panthenol (vitamin b5), citrus grandis peel oil (grapefruit essential oil), citrus citrus sinensis (sweet orange essential oil), equisetum arvense extract (horsetail extract), yucca schidigera (yucca leaf extract), melissa officinalis (melissa extract), geogard ultra(ecocert approved preservative)

2) O-Hair Hydrolicious Conditioner - This is a very lightweight, yet highly moisturizing conditioner so less is definitely more! I love that I only need a small amount to condition my hair and I don't need to use any styling products to keep my hair in line after.

Price - $21.95 for 16oz
Ingredients - organic aloe barbadensis (aloe vera juice), behentrimonium methosulfate (btms), organic cocos nucifera (coconut oil), organic elaeis guineensis (palm oil), di-panthenol (vitamin B5), vegetable glycerin citrus grandis peel oil (grapefruit essential oil) citrus citrus sinensis (sweet orange essential oil), equisetum arvense extract (horsetail extract), yucca schidigera (yucca leaf extract), melissa officinalis (melissa extract), geogard ultra (ecocert approved preservative)

My overall thoughts: I love the citrusy scent of both of these products, the silky texture, and the fact that my hair seems to be getting stronger and softer with each use. The price may be a tad steep, especially if you wash your hair everyday, but personally, I feel these products are worth it, and I wouldn't mind shelling out the bucks to keep achieving the results I've been getting. :-)

Now onto the foundation...

3) Pure Anada Smooth and Conceal Liquid Foundation -  I received a sample of Atlantic Bisque and when I opened the container, I was afraid this might be too dark for me (you can see in the top swatch how much darker than my skin it is!) After applying it, however, it matched my skin tone quite well (bottom swatch - I didn't blend this in completely, but once it is blended, it matches well). It also did not settle into any of my scars, which has been an issue with some other liquids I have tried. And despite the coconut oil, which I know can cause acne issues in some people, it left my skin unblemished and hydrated. I do need to use a setting powder or blotting tissues a few times during the day as this can leave my skin looking too oily if I don't.

Price - $16 for 15ml
Ingredients -  Water (Aqua), Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, (Derived from Coconut), Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Organic Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Virgin Organic Coconut Oil), Cetyl Alcohol, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Iron Oxides, Ultramarines, Sorbitol, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate

My overall thoughts: I really like this foundation as far as coverage, hydration, and look goes. Another plus is that it doesn't streak, turn orange or cake, three annoying things that oily skinned gals like me can experience with liquid make up. The one downside - I need to touch up the shine more than I do with a powder foundation. But then again, pretty much every liquid I have tried I need to do that.
