I've been going through my own bathroom cabinets and making a few adjustments here and there to my current regimen and I thought this would be the perfect time to share with you a few of the products I have been incorporating into my normal routine. Since this is just the start of the Winter season, products used may change, depending on what my skin is in need of at the time, but for now, these are just a few of the additions I have made. :-)
1) Celtic Complexion Winter Skin Balm Bar* - I honestly don't think there is a product that founder and formulator Jennifer Devlin could make that I won't love (you can read on my love for this brand here)! She very graciously sent me this to test and I have to say that this is going to be my (and probably my hubby's) BFF all Winter long! Formulated with ingredients such as Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Borage Oil and Raw Organic Coconut Oil, this will keep skin hydrated and soothed no matter how harsh the weather is! Also, it comes in a handy portable tube that you can take with you everywhere you go! Use it on your face, hands, lips, under/over make-up and even to tame static-y hair from dry heat! I've used this in a dozen different ways, and just can't seem to get enough (do I need an intervention? Nah...)! And for those of you who haven't yet gotten on the Celtic Complexion bandwagon (shame on you!! :-P), have I got some good news for you! This Monday, 11/24/14, you can double your pleasure with their BOGO sale happening on their website. This is a one day only deal so don't miss out! Also, this Winter Skin Balm is only available Oct 1-March 31 so you definitely don't want to skip out on this sale!
Price - $42
Ingredients - Shea butter, jojoba oil, raw organic coconut oil, squalane oil (from vegetarian sources), borage seed oil, evening primrose oil, apricot kernel oil, backhousia citriodora.
2) Celtic Complexion Coconut Creme Cleanser* - (full review here) - This lush, creamy cleanser won't strip precious skin oils, but rather nourishes and hydrates, while effectively removing dirt, make up and impurities.
3) Board & Batten Calming Lift Spray* - (full review to come) - I love to use a hydrating mist after cleansing and this one contains Aloe Leaf Juice, Rose Flower Water and Hyaluronic Acid to keep skin moisturized. A keeper for sure!
4) Elaa Skincare Glow Exfoliating Fruit AHA Dew - If you love to exfoliate your skin, but can't tolerate a "mechanical" exfoliator (especially if you have active blemishes or rosacea), this is the perfect solution. Organic fruit acids gently slough off dead skin cells while leaving your skin soft and well..glowing. I adore everything my dear friend and brand owner, Jill Stacey creates, but this is probably at the top of my list of favorites. I like to use this a few times a week as an overnight treatment to make my skin look more radiant and clear in the morning. And sensitive skinned gals don't need to worry about any stinging or burning as this is extremely gentle. Read more on Jill and Elaa here, here and here.
5) Lulu Organics Hair Powder (Jasmine Scented 1oz) - Since I stopped using shampoos with sulfates, my hair can go at least 3 days between washings (don't worry, I still shower everyday!). During the cold, dry months of Winter, I like to extend that to 4 days if I can and using a dry shampoo keeps my hair looking fresh and smelling clean. I found this one on Amazon and fell in love with it at first use! I love the Jasmine scent as well as the uber chic packaging. And the fact that it doesn't contain any talc or other nasties is a huge win as well. Oh, and it works too!
6) Eminence Organics Firm Skin Acai Booster Serum - I'm a huge Eminence fan (you can read reviews here and here) and this product proves to me once again why that is so. With anti-oxidant rich Acai Berry to improve skin tone, Hyaluronic Acid (from Marshmallow Root Extract) to deeply hydrate and plump up skin cells, and high in vitamin C Maral Root, this is a true skin saver this time of year. It can used as a stand alone serum or mixed in your favorite mask, serum or moisturizer for added hydration benefits. I personally like to mix it with my Acure Organics Rose Argan Oil during the day when my skin is feeling a little "parched".
These are just a few of my favorite things at the moment. What are some of your favorite products to use during the cold weather months?
*PR products. All other products were purchased by me.
